I would like to remind you all of the upcoming panel meeting which is a great opportunity to have a say in our policing priorities over the coming few months.
21/02/2012
Swavesey Neighbourhood Panel
19:30 - 21:00
Location: Willingham Primary School
Unfortunately after a very long period without any dwelling burglaries in Papworth, two have been reported to us in the past week, one attempt in Haymans Way where no entry was gained and the other in Varrier Jones Drive. Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the 22nd - 23rd January?
Criminal damage to a fence also occurred during a 16th birthday party at Fen Drayton Village Hall last weekend. We are currently conducting enquiries into this.
We have conducted a speed survey in Knapwell between 13th - 20th January and I have the results as follows...
Northbound Southbound
Total Vehicles 3865 4143
Average MPH 29 30
Total exceeding ACPO Guidelines (10% + 2mph) 327 482
Percentage exceeding ACPO guidelines 8.46% 11.63%
I have met today with the parish council to discuss the results and talk about actions to tackle speeding. Knapwell are looking to set up a speedwatch group so if you are interested in assisting with this then please do get in touch.

During this week we have seen a continuation of burglaries in South Cambs as follows:
Papworth Everard – 2 reports in Varrier Jones Drive and Haymans Way.
Caldecote – West Drive
Milton – 2 reports – The Sycamores and Shirley Close
Orchard Park – Topper Street.
Common themes – entry via rear of premises forcing entry by breaking door or windows to unoccupied properties. Tools or items used to break in taken from sheds or gardens. Jewellery, cash, passports ,small items taken.
At one location it is believed that the locking mechanism on patio doors was released by ‘shaking’ the door. Police advise that secondary locking devices should be used when leaving homes.
As always, please remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour via the 999 system.
